I decided to go on a raw food cleanse a couple weeks back. I know, know. I’ll share the deets soon, I promise. But I decided sharing this green juice recipe may be more useful information than me bemoaning how I couldn’t have coffee and half and half for five days. The nice thing about this recipe is that it doesn’t require a juicer. So, without further ado, Leah’s Green Juice Recipe (yes, it’s raw, vegan and gluten-free):
Ingredients
1/2 L of coconut water (NOT coconut milk)
1/3-1/2 bushel kale
1 small handful spinach
1 mango
1 apple
2 kiwi
1 large carrot (or 5 baby carrots) chopped
1 nectarine or 1 peach
1/2 Tbs fresh chopped ginger
1-1 1/2 Tbs honey
Directions
Throw all the ingredients in, except the coconut water. If the contents are spilling over the top of blender, just push everything down. It should be cozy in there. Add the coconut water, it should be about 2/3 full of liquid. If it isn’t add more. If it’s over that, don’t worry, it’ll only make blending time quicker. Mix in a blender. Refrigerate. Enjoy.
Me, with the first batch from my green juice recipe.
