The Overview: Love all of the dudes quilted flannel jackets but looking for a women’s specific one that gives some shape and flare? Look no further than Orage Blueberry Flannel. This is something I’ve been searching for a while. It’s rare to come across a functional women’s flannel that doesn’t look like you grabbed it from your boyfriend’s closet.
The Test: This piece can be a casual around town jacket, a mid- layer on the mountain or the main accent piece of an outfit. It’s the do all jacket with style. The flannel is soft and the quilted nylon is not cold against the skin. I’m 5’4” and generally wear a medium and it fits perfectly, not too loose, but not too tight.
The one thing I wish it had were two side pockets because unless your rockin’ plastic or cash, a cellphone or car keys in the chest pockets make the pockets bulge and give the appearance of strangely shaped nipples. Not good. But it is super comfortable and available in fun colors! I have worn it as a mid-layer skiing, to the bar, to my job…you get the picture. This jacket has gone everywhere with me and I have only had it a month! Its cozy quilted lining keeps you warm, while a DWR coating offers light weatherproofing for a full multi-purpose piece.
